The people behind your care

Meet Our Care Support Team

Ericka

Operations Manager

“I’m proud to be part of a company that genuinely puts people first, both clients and staff. My goal is to provide a stable foundation, so our team can focus on providing exceptional, thoughtful service. I may not always be face-to-face with clients, but I see the difference my work makes in the smoothness of their experience.”

“Our caregivers are truly remarkable. They bring compassion, patience, and professionalism to every visit. They don’t just perform tasks; they build meaningful connections to bring comfort and dignity to the people they support. Their dedication inspires me every day.”

Tea or coffee?

Coffee in the morning, tea in the evening.

On a day off…

I enjoy watching a Christmas Hallmark or Great American Family movie; it’s my lazy-comfort thing to do, LOL. I also love studying French and travelling with my family, inside and outside the city — Victoria is too beautiful to miss a thing!

Gerry

Victoria Team Lead

“The most satisfying part of my work is knowing that what I do behind the scenes directly improves someone’s day — whether that’s helping a caregiver feel prepared and supported, or giving a family peace of mind knowing their loved one is well cared for. I especially enjoy problem-solving and finding solutions that work for everyone involved.”

“Care & Company fosters a culture of respect, teamwork, and continuous improvement. It truly feels like a place where people care about clients, families, and each other. This culture makes a meaningful difference in the work we do every day.”

Tea or coffee?

Coffee.

On a day off…

I enjoy spending time with my family, relaxing, going to the movies or walking through parks or along the beach.

Michelle

Nanaimo Team Lead

“The most rewarding part of my role is seeing and feeling the significant impact we have with our clients. The compassion and dignity we provide is rewarded with a twinkle in their eyes, the smiles, and the hugs. Most importantly, it’s rewarding to know that our clients are able to live at home with safety and dignity for as long as possible.”

“We give 100% and go above and beyond, doing those little extras like bringing a newspaper they mentioned they enjoy, those special cookies they like and miss, giving a mini manicure, or just massaging their hands/feet with lotion.”

Tea or coffee?

I love coffee and enjoy treating myself with a low-fat latte.

On a day off…

I enjoy long walks on the seawall with a dear friend. In the fall and winter months I love to bake and make delicious Nanaimo Bars, cookies and treats to share with clients, friends and family.

Jasryl

Administrative Assistant

“I find fulfillment in supporting families through what can be an emotional and sometimes overwhelming journey. I also enjoy supporting our caregivers, knowing that when they feel valued and supported, they can provide the best possible care for our clients.”

“Being a caregiver is more than providing assistance; it’s about building trust, showing compassion, and helping people feel valued and supported. Every small act of kindness matters.”

Tea or coffee?

Coffee — my little pick-me-up to start the day!

On a day off…

I enjoy relaxing, spending quality time with my husband and friends.

Anina

Client Care

“I have the privilege of meeting potential clients and their families in their homes. I’m often the first person they meet face-to-face, and I love it! I love getting to know our clients, seeing their space, and collaborating to best accommodate their needs and preferences through customized services and caregiver matches.”

“The most satisfying part of my work is offering to help in various ways: setting up care, helping with a problem over the phone, using humour to bring a smile, or simply being present with people — whatever situation they are in.”

Tea or coffee?

Plain water, no bubbles. I also love my morning smoothies!

On a day off…

I enjoy the quiet; cooking, cleaning, thrift store shopping, reading, watching a show on Gem — all at a leisurely pace, if possible.

Clare

Bookkeeping

“Hands down, the most satisfying part of my work is the privilege of working with this team of incredible people.”

“My family has personal experience with Care & Company services. The care workers are so kind and patient with Mum, and it gives her great pleasure to laugh and talk with them. I feel comforted knowing Mum is safe and cared for when I am out.”

Tea or coffee?

Coffee.

On a day off…

I love to completely disconnect and take myself out for a picnic, a walk, or an Imax show, putter in my garden, or sit quietly on my deck reading a book.
